Diversity in Study Abroad
This project was spearheaded by the Study Abroad Office at Miami University and done in collaboration with students and offices across campus.
DESCRIPTION
The Diversity in Study Abroad brochures and student spotlight posters were designed to encourage typically underrepresented students to not only consider studying abroad, but to also feel a more at ease discussing any concerns with advisors in the Study Abroad Office.
MY ROLE
As the Diversity Initiatives Coordinator for the Study Abroad Office, I initiated and managed the entire project. I met with students and the Directors and Assistant Directors of the relevant offices to design 6 brochures:
First-Generation Students, LGBTQ+ Students, Students of Color, Students with Disabilities, Veteran Students, and Regional Campus Students
We collaborated to draft the initial content, I designed the brochures in InDesign, then the brochures were reviewed by students and edited according to their feedback.

Student Spotlight Poster Series
The Poster Series campaign was comprised of three major components, each with their own purpose: the poster, a Q&A, and a quarter-sheet flyer. The posters included photos of the student abroad (which the student chose) and a pull quote from their Q&A; then they were printed and hung around campus. The Q&A was published in full on the Study Abroad Office's blog, and promoted on social media. The quarter-sheet flyers contained a smaller set of photos and an abridged version of the Q&A; then they were printed and put in waiting areas around campus, as well as in academic advisors' offices.
